Merry Christmas! How is it up in the north pole? How is Mrs. Claus? How is the weather up there? I think I've been a good girl. I'm not sure what I would like for Christmas. I think I would like a karaoke machine but I'm not sure if my brother could handle it. He hates singing but me and my friend Jovi like to do plays with singing. Last year we went caroling in my neighborhood. We hope you have a merry Christmas! Bye!

Dear Aurelia

    Thank you for your nice letter.  The North Pole is a little warmer this season, probably only about - 45 degrees outside.  I believe I saw a Polar Bear Moon-bathing yesterday, since the sun doesn't really show up here for another few months.  The Elves are very busy this time of year, as you might imagine, finishing up the last few thousand toys for Christmas Eve.  

    Mrs. Claus has been very busy also keeping everyone focused on our jobs, getting ready for Christmas.  She regularly makes dozens of her famous Chocolate Chip Love cookies for the crew so everyone is still singing happily and making mounds of toys.  It's all still quite magical to me.

    The Elves asked for a Karaoke machine a few years ago.  With their schedules they really only get to use it in January but they have so much fun with it the smiles last all year long.  Occasionally we will set it up in the Workshop and let them come up one at a time and entertain the crew.  It is great fun!  Even Santa occasionally takes a turn, when I've had a little too much hot cocoa of course.

    I think a Karaoke machine is a great idea, and I believe your brother might surprise you. When nobody's looking he sings, and pretty well, according to a certain Elf I know.

Beard in the Chili

Dear Santa

   I was wondering.

   My grandpa has a cool beard kinda like yours but a little shorter.  Everytime we have chili for dinner he ends up dipping his beard in his bowl of chili. I know you've had a beard for a long time, so how do you eat chili?

   What a great question!

   I admit that a bit of chili, or soup, or oatmeal still ends up in my beard, even after all these years. But over the years I have developed the habit of sitting just a little bit further away from the table. This prevents "dipping" my beard in my bowl. Taking smaller bites tends to keep the rest of the beard clean. But sometimes it still gets messy. Then I give Mrs. Claus a big hug and tell her it's because she's such a good cook!

   A messy beard just means that Grandma is a good cook. So go and give her a great big hug, and tell her Thank You.

Going to try this again I just wanted to send you a letter to say hey I got your Facebook text and to let you know that I'm now on here and I will stay in touch with you on here hope to talk to you more and hope to keep up with everything you're doing God bless take care and I've been good this year can't say too much about my kids but I've been good this year LOL

  Very glad you figured out the letter system.  If it wasn't for my elves I would still be putting stamps on my computer screen...  We love letters here at the Pole, but we so rarely receive letters from adults. So this was a very nice treat indeed! 

  Tell your kids that Santa is waiting for their letters so he knows what they want.  We are running low on Coal so tell them I would appreciate it if they got (and stayed) on the Nice List.

Dear Santa,

How is everything going up at the North Pole? It's been a while since I saw you up at a fancy Italian restaurant in Duluth. You were sitting at a table with Mrs. Claus and when you were done eating you both came over to our table and talked to us for a little bit. I really liked that!

This year I was hoping for baseball cards or Pokemon cards and a lot of snow to play in all the time every day. I think I've been really good this year. Hopefully you think so too.

  I do remember you, and thank you so much for your letter.  That was my first time in Duluth other than Christmas Eves, and I'm always in a little bit of a hurry on Christmas Eve...  Mrs. Claus and I very much enjoyed our dinner at Bellisio's and especially meeting you and your family. We liked it so much we want to go back again next year. I hope you are all doing well. 

  You have been very good this year and I will happily give your Christmas list to my head elf.  I look forward to visiting your house on Christmas Eve!  And I will speak to Mother Nature about that snow.

  Thank you again for your nice letter. Please feel free to write anytime of the year, even if it's just to say "Hi".  Mrs. Claus and all the Elves love it when we get mail, and I always share the letters with them.

1) will Bluedolph be pulling your sleigh again this year? Will he need a few carrots too? I'll send you some

2) Will Mrs Claus still be making all those wonderful cookies and other goodies?

Well Hello Ree!

     Bluedolph pulls the sleigh that we built for scouting out new delivery routes.  It's a much smaller sleigh designed just for him and his Unique Talents!  For Christmas Eve I still use the traditional sleigh with the 8 reindeer team.  Sometimes Bluedolph will tag along to support his friends Dasher, Dancer.... well you know the rest!  Carrots are a Reindeer favorite, so please feel free to leave some out on Christmas Eve.  I will make sure that everyone gets some!  They also love Red Bell Peppers!

     Mrs. Claus' cookies and treats have become such a part of Christmas at the North Pole, I don't know how we would manage without them!
